Modern Slavery Statement
Brent Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Brent Removals has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business operations and supply chains. Brent Removals is committed to operating responsibly, ethically, and with integrity, ensuring that human rights are respected and protected in all aspects of our activities.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Brent Removals has a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not present in any part of our organisation or connected supply chains.
All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment. Any form of exploitation is fundamentally incompatible with our values and our responsibilities as an employer and business partner.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Brent Removals provides residential and commercial removals, storage, and associated services. Our supply chains include vehicle and equipment suppliers, facilities and storage providers, subcontracted labour, packaging material suppliers, and various professional and support services.
We recognise that certain parts of our supply chain, particularly those involving manual labour and subcontracted services, may be at higher risk of modern slavery. As such, we are committed to identifying, assessing, and mitigating these risks through appropriate due diligence and continuous engagement with our suppliers.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Brent Removals conducts proportionate due diligence on new and existing suppliers to assess their compliance with our standards on modern slavery and human rights. This includes appropriate screening of suppliers, the use of contractual obligations that require adherence to anti-slavery principles, and the right to terminate relationships where serious concerns are identified.
We undertake audits and reviews of key suppliers, focusing on those operating in higher-risk sectors or locations. These audits may include questionnaires, document reviews, and where appropriate, site visits. Where issues are identified, we seek corrective action through improvement plans, and we reserve the right to discontinue relationships with suppliers who are unwilling or unable to meet our standards.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for the prevention of modern slavery is shared across Brent Removals. Senior management is accountable for overall policy and oversight, while managers are responsible for implementing controls within their teams and supply chain relationships.
We promote awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. Training and guidance are provided so that team members can recognise potential indicators of exploitation and understand how to respond to concerns.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Brent Removals encourages anyone connected with our business, including employees, contractors, and suppliers, to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking. Individuals are urged to raise issues with their line manager or a senior manager. Concerns can also be escalated internally through our whistleblowing arrangements, which allow issues to be reported in confidence without fear of retaliation.
All reports are treated seriously and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will liaise with relevant authorities and take immediate steps to safeguard any individuals who may be at risk.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Brent Removals is committed to the ongoing review and improvement of our approach to preventing modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence processes, and training to ensure they remain appropriate and robust.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by senior management and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business, regulatory developments, and best practice. Through this continuous review process, we aim to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Brent Removals and represents our commitment to upholding human rights and ethical standards in all areas of our business.
